3 months ago, a few days my arrival in Manhattan from Israel, I was raped, and the american court doctor who I was ordered to allow to examine me said I was not pregnant, and I went back to Israel, now I have been married for a month and my period hasn't come and I tested positive on two pregnancy tests, one before first having sex with my husband, and one afterwards. Is it possible I have been pregnant all this time? If so can a DNA test on the baby be used to prove that the man I rightly accused of raping me did it, so he can be put in jail?

A piece of sh*t like that deserves worse than jail. A DNA test will help, it's very powerful evidence. Even without DNA you may have a stronger case than you think. I would suggest to hire a lawyer, with all you have gone through you deserve at least for a lawyer to handle all the legal court stuff. I would pick a lawyer that you like, who has a personality that makes you feel comfortable. Crappy lawyers can be a real headache. As far as the pregnancy, I would ask a doctor, even though many people have good answers here, I would put my trust in a trained professional. Although life may seem terrible right now, sometimes things work out in the end, keep your head up.

Yes its possible you could be pregnant, and yes the DNA test can help put him in jail. If you tested positive before you had sex with your husband, than it is VERY likley not his baby, so definitley stay in contact with the sources you need to, to get the DNA test and put that a**hole behind bars!

I have 4 kids, (one set of twins), 3 pregnancies. Your first exam would not have been able to tell you if you were pregnant or not accuratley unless they tested you 2-3 weeks after it occured, so your recent tests are probably very accurate. It is possible in first time pregnancies to not have symptoms for awhile. Also, what others are saying about the ultrasouns is true. They can mesure the fetus, and give a pretty close guess as to how old it is, and that will help you determine when you became pregnant. Sperm can live for 7 days inside a womans body, so if it is within a week of the time you were raped, that it could belong to the rapist. A DNA test is 99% accurate, and will help prove he is the father, and hopefully further your case against him. Wish you the best, hope that helped you get some answers.

I am not a doctor.

However it seems you have been pregnant all the time, especially since you tested positive even before you had sex with your husband. I presume the first of the two test would had been done in Israel after you returned, while the test the American Court Doc did would had been immediately after the rape.

I am sure a DNA test can be made on the baby.

I am a man and cannot understand the intensity of your emotions on the subject of rape. Personally, I think, I would had got the baby aborted, and tried to forget the whole unfortunate incident- if I were in your place.

If you are pregnant the Baby's DNA will prove who the father is.

Please don't wonder and worry about being pregnant. It is not good for you because it is worse wondering than knowing.

Go to your Doctors and have them check you. The urine test at the hospital is more accurate. Anyhow the doctor can examine you and tell from the way your cervix if you are pregnant. You need to know for sure so that if you are you can start taking prenatal care of your yourself and your baby.

If the at home tests come out negative it could be wrong but if it come out positive it is most often correct that it's positive.

I am sorry that you have to go through this. If you are pregnant, It sounds like you are. May your baby prove that God can work good things out of bad. If it's to be, may your husband and you both love your baby with the same love that you will have for your future children with your husband.

Please find out today if you can. If you are try following the development progression so that you can feel more in touch with the baby and possibly begin to develop a bond.

God Bless You, Shalom

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you suffered such a traumatic ordeal here. Please be sure to seek counseling for this as people sometimes have a very hard time dealing with such a violent event in their life. Some people don't exhibit much until later on in their life so it's important that you seek counseling now.

Urine pregnancy tests are not 100% but fairly close. You can also have a blood test (called beta hCG) which can also give you a broad range of dates based on the value of the beta hCG. It maybe possible that the pregnancy testing was too early and your beta hCG have not risen yet to the detectible levels in the urine.

If your periods were "regular as clock work" and you never missed one then you can look back an see when you actually stopped your menstral periods. This is called the LMP (last menstral period) and can be fairly accurate in determining the age of the baby *IF* your periods were very regular.

An ultrasound test can be ordered by your physician and can be used to date the pregnancy.

Lastly, a paternity test (DNA testing) can be done to determine who is the father of the baby. Since the man denied having sex with you, this would reflute his testimony. Please contact a lawyer to have this done. If he is proven to be the father of the baby, not only could he be convicted of rape, but he could also be financially responsible for the care of the child.

It is VERY possible to be pregnant for only 3 months and not have any signs other than a missed period. Not everyone gets morning sickness (I only had it with my first child), and at 3 months that would be about the only thing going on. You wouldn't have gained much weight at this point, and you don't feel the baby move until around 5 months. As far as a DNA test goes, you would have to know exactly who raped you, and they would have to get a DNA sample from him to prove it was his child. They can't tell anything from a DNA sample unless they have someone else's DNA to compare it to.

You could very well have been pregnant all this time. I think it was probably too soon to tell right after you had been raped whether or not you were pregnant or not, but at any rate, he could have given you the morning after pill up to 72 hours after the rape to alleviate any chance you may have had of getting pregnant. Yes, a DNA test can determine who most likely is the father of your baby (nothing is guaranteed 100%), but it will tell you whether or not if it's the rapist or your husband. I think there is a good possibility of getting the rapist charged & arrested should the dna test prove that he is the father of this child, though I can't give you the odds on the possibility of him being convicted of this heinous crime. Good luck to you in getting to the bottom of this.

Yes, a DNA test can help determine who is the father. However, if enough evidence was not collected to prove rape, it will do nothing for your case. Being that father only proves you had sex with him. The examination and investigation from the initial report will determine if a rape happened. I fear the examination came too late based on your description and that is a shame. I would raise your child with love and not tarnish the joy of motherhood with a paternity test. No good can come from it.

I am so sorry for what you have had to endure. I too am a survivor of rape. Yes you can be pregnant and if you choose to go ahead and have this baby, DNA samples will determine who the father is. Firstly this will disprove his alibi of sleeping with another girl on the night in question, which will make them BOTH out to be liars and should give you a stronger case against him.
Secondly, I wish you all the very best of love and luck in pursuing this case and I hope that in bringing this vile man to justice, you can move on with your life. Hugs xx

I have just read the answers here and da bomb needs to be took out and whipped. She is an evil vile nasty piece of work who has NO business in a section that deals with spirituality. I apologise on her behalf for those vile remarks she made and I have reported her.

Yea... call Maury. Seriously, though.. yes I would STRONGLY suggest getting a DNA test. Rape is no joke, and if he did it, and that baby is his then he's in a world of ****.

Yea, it's possible to be pregnant and not know it... I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks along... sometimes it doesn't show on a urine test and a blood test is required.
