Was it after midnight?
The 24 hour period seems to be midnight to midnight ...
so after midnight your time, you should be able to answer more questions.

there is a page describing what capabilities you can do (based on your level) for example, level 1 has 5 question limit, either 10 or 20 answer limit, etc... level 2 has 10question/either 20 or 40 answer limit,etc...

it's to do with the server location and its time zone
the server (from what i can gather) is in california, so if you're elsewhere in the world, your question-answering capabilities won't reset until midnight california time which is, for example, 5pm sydney time

24 hour period you're allowed just so many answers.
