You should start by learning to write properly. If you project yourself as a kid you don't inspire trust in buyers.
You should buy a few things, anything, and get some positive feedback (must be 100% positive when you're starting out). Many smaller sellers have a feedback policy (I do), while the big ones tend to be lousy with feedback. Many people won't bid on items listed by people with zero or minimal feedback. There are probably people who won't bid on anything unless it's offered by a Power Seller, but you can't worry about that at the start.
I suppose some people make it as generalists, buying wholesale and trying to get people to bid more than wholesale, but I think your chances are better as a specialist. You probably already have some expertise in some product line that's not too heavy to mail. Study that product and see what prices you can expect for certain items (I see big variations in identical items in my area), and see if you can acquire any for less. If your listings show you're knowledgeable in the field (not just shoveling commodity items) you will gain trust.

If you're looking for some extra income you may find this interesting. I've made 500.00 bucks alone with this site just by doing surveys and free trials. This was all in just hours of my own free time...I hope you don't consider this to be 'spam' but I am seriously trying to help you out. Anyway, if you want to check it out for yourself and read up on it here's the site. And yes, it's totally free. After you register, check the 'Messages' tab to learn how to make the easiest money. No age requirement. Thanks for reading.
