Midol or Tylenol

I've tried Midol once as a teen and got a terrible headache. Took it again later in life to help the PMS mood swings. Sometime a hot cup of herbal tea helps. For really bad pain, some people use the oral contraceptive because it helps regulate the hormones that is causing the cramps. Good luck, dear.

When using OTC meds such as ibuprofen the key to maximum effectiveness is when you begin dosing. If you start before any pain or at first pain (even if slight) and continue dosing every 4-6 hrs with no break the effectiveness will be markedely better than if you begin when pain becomes significant.

you can take up to 800 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours. Ibuprofen helps shrink the swelling of muscles. Be sure and eat a little something before taking that high of a dose because it can upset your stomach. Also make sure your not allergic to it or asprin.

no medication actually cures menstrual cramps..they get the cramps to go away but until your next period, here they come again.

what i'd suggest would be therapeutic for menstrual cramps...
from the start of your period, avoid cold drinks...and even if you still get cramps, use hot compress or water bottle and place it on your lower abdomen area...

you could also allow yourself to relax in a reclined bound angle pose...you can check this out from the link below..

See how diet change is most effective with side effects. 40,000 Americans need liver transplants but most will not get them. Medications hurt liver but an MD told me of those are due to Tylenal!
