I am tired of politicaly correctness, and like the guy in the incredibles said "let's make everyone special, so no body really is. I am tired of people who has chosen to be hipocritical, to be policatly correct. I rather have give a headbutt and know its true felings, that hide behind words like the Italian guy, and come to say later that Zizou is his biggest hero. I rather have someone called me black, fat, small, ugly, etc. than having someone just being nice to disguise its true fellings. People are trying to deny what we are inheritaly animal in survival mode. Trying to deny being angry and control that feeling is as asking anyone to control being hungry, sexual, or happy. Where is honesty, where is dignity, where is protection and restoration of ones integrity. Zizou did what he felt and I applaude him for that. He was honest, the Italian guy is disonest! I am proud of Zizou for defending his honor and his family's honor without being hiprocitical.

The man of honour do what exactly zidane did.
Family values and honours come first and then comes rest of the things.
Its the family which supports you in your highs and lows.
the world only remember you when you are at a high.
not once , but thrice italian said those words -
and any man of honour would reacted the same way -
french people have already forgiven him , and the replays of the headbutt attracts a good round of applause.
and i applaud too .
not only for the headbutt, but for all the good things zidane has done to the game.
he might be a players from another planet, but he has the sentiments of a human belonging to earth.

I completely agree with you. I still support Zizou because he is a great player and human being, and that's what people should remember him as. He stood up for his family, like a true man.
People shouldn't expect him to just stand by and let someone say something personal like that. He is a human, after all, not a god, so he does have some faults. He isn't perfect, although he is pretty near perfect in soccer. Everyone gets angry at some point, and that's what happened to him. I would have done something to that guy too, if he said something about my mom and my sister repeatedly.

Zidane is undeniably one of the best players of soccer to have ever played the game and his reputation should not be tarnished the least bit. Materazzi of the Italians clearly deserved a beating due to his insensitive comments to Zidane and the nipple twist that he gave to the Frenchman. As an Arab with immigrant parents, Zidane represents ambition and accomplishment coming from a humble background. He is therefore a hero to many and a great role model. If the allegations of Materazzi insulting Zidane's family are true, then it is noble of Zidane to have defended his family honor with slight violence.

I don't care what another player says, no intentional assault on the field. Every major professional sport has trash talking and the Italian figured out a way to get to Zidane. Zidane would have been better off scoring on him and showing his greatness in that matter.
If the roles had been reversed, and the Italian head-butted Zidane, I would feel the same way, would you?

I still support him, and understand why he did that, even though its not a positive demonstration to the kids.
But it is a reality check between parents and their kids to let them understand why he reacted this way. Very long story, but worth the lesson.
People still applaude him because he is basically nice in record.
What if the other way round?
Ppl will condemn him for being a hypocrite all the while, when he is actually a racist. But ppl would not think much of Materazzi because he is basically not so nice in record.

I support him because he showed us that befor being a proffesional player, he is a man. With goods and bads, he managed to succeed in his career. And above all, he proved that some values, like moral integrity and being respected by the others, are more important than anything else.
Zizou remains a model for us, not necessary as a human being, but as a football player!

I COMPELTELY AGREE WITH YOU! And I undoubtedly agree that what Zidane did shows that he truly is human (afterall...we ALL are!), that he is an exceptional person, a considerate human being, and a person with good moral values and beliefs. I admire and respect him soo much more because of what he has done...yes, violence is not always the best answer, however...when family comes into the picture...what he did was amazing! I LOVE YOU ZIZOUUUUUUUUUUUUU...WE ALL DO!!!! =)

I support and honor him for what he has done.
Its only human. Sportsmen are also human.
Where is the sportsmanship if someone keep going on and on insult their opponents.
Its really a sad way to end his football career.
I feel sorry for him.
