The way to get quality friends is to BE a quality friend. As far as intelligence goes, usually birds of a feather flock together. If you are still in school, check out clubs or groups in which you are interested. You will meet people with similar interests. If you have graduated, get involved in projects in the community that interest you.
Get involved in activities that you are passionate about, and watch your list of friends grow. There are intelligent people in every walk of life. Combine intelligence with mutual interest, and watch out!!!

Someone like that is something you have to search for. Find someone and take time to get to know them deeper. Give it time to let everything develop. If problems arise, see if you can both get it resolved, and if you are friends after the problem happened, then you may be that much closer to a real friend than before. Its never easy, but it can be done.

I think if you want those qualities in a friend you must have those qualities. I also feel you must be friendly and out-going to meet people, if you are you can meet all kinds of people. My mom always said"show yourself friendly and friends will come to you".
