Go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter.
However, it would be a good idea to FIRST go into "My Computer" (which is on your desktop or in the Start Menu). Then right-click your C: drive and select Properties. Click "Disk cleanup" and follow the instrucitons.
Remove any unwanted apps and files next. After you've gotten rid of some junk and freed up space, then do the defrag.

Degrag is built into Windows XP. You can get to it in more than one way, but the easiest is Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter.
Select the drive you want to defragment and click the Defragment button (about 2/3 down from the top).

Go to Start then Programs then Accessories then System Tools then select Disk Defragmenter. run the program and defrag your hard drive. Tip- don't do anything while you are defragging your drive and turn off any programs not required while using this program because it tends to get interrupted easily and keeps starting from the beginning. Depending on how fragmented your drive will determine how long it will take to defrag. Good luck!
