It sounds like a variation on Nietzsche's statement that (people) "...would rather have the void as purpose than be void of purpose."
Or perhaps together, we collectively collapse the probability wave of reality -- or maybe that's just bullocks.

Our true nature is a will-less state. If there is a choice to be made, it is the ego which will respond, not the self. So neither is possible.

Yeah. Its my motto for life. I say it all the time. (for those people who dont get what its saying ill dumb it down for ya: Would you rather have the fact of nothingness or NOTHING at all? I chose the fact of Nothingness!!!

Would you rather will your question to sound intelligent than will it to be understandable? lol... try rephrasing it so others can understand it easily (yes, I understand it myself). My answer is no, nothingness to me would be worse than not wanting anything.
