AT this point, we have a government spending great sums of moneyand the grades and tests (Especially when compared internationally) just keep going down and down.
I propose that the voucher system be mandatory nation wide!
This will have a happy byproduct, Illegals will get caught!
Parents with VALID SS#'s and children with VALID SS#'s will get vouchers for the federal allotment of $$ to take their children to whatevfer school they wish (YES EVEN RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS! REMEMBER THAT PUBLIC MONEY COMES FROM THE PUBLIC AND THE PUBLIC CAN CHOOSE TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS IF THEY WISH!)
The illegal children and parents will just be out of luck! SORRY, BUT THEY AN HAVE FREE EDUCATION IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY!
I propoase that all schools use the progress at your own rate schooling.
This allows for the child to no longer be stifled! and held back because others don't get it yet. if competition developes among some and they learn because of it, GREAT!

Actually, It DOES help the eduction in this country!
The "advance at your own rate" educations programs ALWAYS bring out the best in students!
It is completely opposed to the current dumbing down of our kids!
Children still have to graduate after 12th grade, but their learning time is SO much better spent. Not being bored, waiting for the goof-offs and burn-outs to maybe get it.
These programs have shown that even the slackers pull themselves out of their pits, when they are surrounded by kids two years younger than they are.
We do not need to teach our kids to FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES!
We need to let them grow and accomplish and they NATURALLY will feel good about themselves!
False self esteem crumbles, but dignity from accomplishment builds pride and character!

The average parent isn't responsible enough to research the correct schools for their children. Vouchers would work in a vacuum with a system where parents actually gave a sh1t about the outcome of the children's education. As it stands teachers can't make a living and students don't give a sh1t because the talent of educators continue to drop. SO SAD

Wouldn't work since schools are given tax money to run based on the amount of students they have and so some schools would be overflowing and others would be wasted dollars on building them to begin with. I say throw the illegals out and let our kids go back to speaking and learning English like they should be.

... this is of course silly for one reason...it's taking tax dollars away from schools that have set standards and giving them to schools that have no set standards... so education would be WAY WORSE...
you clearly have no idea about education or the debacle of the alternative schools that receive tax dollars now and how they are testing the WORST of all schools for the VAST MAJORITY... it's basically a little version of your ideas that is 10 TIMES WORSE than current public school...
and of course the last issue in your school is what about the students that don't "keep up"?... so you just add them to the welfare line, since you can't be bothered with them?
Why do Republican "fixes" make things 10 times worse? (this is a traditional Republican idea, just so you know)
Maybe someone with an education should tell us how to fix education?

This sounds more like a law to catch illegal immigrants which is not a bad idea but it doesn't do much for the education or lack of in this country.

Mr. President.......I actually like this idea (probably would have seen a little less wicked WITHOUT the reference to illegals....but to each his own).
It certainly compliments my child and her progression and SHE is my MAIN concern.
Perhaps some really good ideas will come out of "illegal hatred". This one I like......good job.
