1. Iraq
-when a nation commits to war it should always maintain that war as its top priority
2. International Trade Agreements
-Immigrants are coming across the border because companies in the US have to compete with goods from nations that do not have to uphold the high standards our own government sets on companies within its own borders. It is up to our government to set restrictions, and they have done little to nothing. Back in the late 80's, restrictions were put in place on foreign competitors of electornics the electronics boom of the 90's was a result.
-The record National Debt needs to recover through a reduction in the record Trade Deficit.
3. Individual Economic Viability
-The gap between the rich and poor continues to grow, and coming up through the economic ladder is becoming less frequent
-College education is becoming less economically feasible
-Healthcare is becoming less feasible for small business and individuals causing a spiralling health crisis in which individuals are indebted to hospitals because they couldn't afford the insurance to see a doctor for an issue that could have been resolved cheaper and easier before it got so bad. Hospitals are unable to get money from the uninsured and the insurance companies fight them for every dime, so the Hospitals have to increase their costs.
-Small businesses are choked by healthcare costs which large corporations get big discounts on. Small businesses are less protected from massive corporate mergers and bank mergers allowing less cash to be available for upstart ventures.
-Gas prices are reducing available income for business development. Particularly, small businesses can not absorb the cost impact to maintain lower prices on goods which larger corporations can.

1) Polarized political climate - nothing gets solved if the voters are fighting each other. Politicians hold the power, get wealthy and win. This is on the federal AND local levels. (This could also be categorized as poor governmental support. eg, 9/11 intel failure, Katrina response, Homeland security misfunding, unsafe airports, etc.)
2) Corporate Ethics (or lack thereof) - Scandals such as Enron have devastating effects on people's lives, the economy, and wall street.
3) Consumer Debt - 70% of people are not saving, are in debt to credit card companies in which foreign countries like Saudi Arabia have major stakes in, and will face poverty in their retirement years. Social Security will not be there.
(in no particular order)

Unnecessary, expensive war
Lack of health care
Surmounting credit card debt
Middle class falling into poverty
The biggest problem, is that these issues are invisible to the
people who are supposed to be paying attention.
