probably when all the old farts die, and stop teaching intolerance and ignorance to their offspring.

It was accepted at one time. Did you know that it became unacceptable in the 12th century? Interestingly that is when there was a wave of anti-semitism in the Christian community, and they associated being gay with Jews, therefore, being gay became something unacceptable by default.

hahahaha first off I have to make a comment about the "new" bisexual thing that someone else put. News flash to the person that wrote that, being bisexual ain't new. Take a human sexuality class, people have been performing bisexual acts for many many years. Now, to your question, it depends on where you are living and such (big cities are more open while suburbs are a little more conservative, middle states are more conservative than coastal states (at least on the west coast)). It will take longer in the severly conservative states but as a whole I think we are moving more towards accepting it. It's a slow process. Each generation has to realize it is not as bad as the generation before them made it seem. As far as in the church goes, that will take an even longer time. We are moving forward though, slowly but surely.

Gay Marriage, is probably an eventuality. As much as people like to piss and moan about it, and complain about it, it is only a matter of time before there is gay marriage. My logic is based on past history (U.S.) At one time, I'm sure people thought Blacks would always be slaves. People probably thought that women would never vote. Times changed, and so did the laws. Those who beleive right now, that gay marriage will never exist, are probably wrong.

As for gays being accepted, there will always, always, be places in the world that they are not. There are after all, still places where it is socially acceptable to be racist against blacks, hispanics, and native americans, and asians.

In an ideal world, yes, we would all be accepted for who we are, no matter what we are, no matter where we go. Reality is that no matter what the government says, or a church says, there will always be people that hate, and hate openly.

Gay people ARE ALREADY accepted! Yeah!! We are just not accepted by EVERYBODY. No one is. Accepting ourselves counts and the many loving people who are in our lives. That's good enough for me. I accept me and so do my friends and my Higher Power. If I wasn't gay, I would just be different in another way. It seems the people who judge so harshly obviously fail to realize they live in glass houses and must be very unhappy and hard on themselves as well. We learn from the hand we are dealt and it is a good thing we are not all the same. We're all humans, though.

Completely? Never. Legal equality is really the most we can hope for. Social acceptance, to a degree, we'll get (moreso than we have now, even), but there'll always be people (in all likelihood the straight children of some of the people who've already answered; the gay children will have walked off to make their own life) who harbor hatred.

nobody could no that answer for sure.the only comfort for people who are gay is that its nothing like it used to be,people are a lot more willing to say there gay and others are more willing to accept people who are, which is right, nobody asks to be born the way we are,so the more people ignore putting people down for being gay the better i say!!!

Never, because it is wrong.
Wrong things are never accepted by soceity as a whole.

While I have no problem with gays, and being bi myself, I still know that it is wrong.

as soon as these bigots and preaching folks learn what it is all about. they don't understand it. they haven't been there. it is the fault of republicans. church and state separation is what i have to say about that. i am gay. i have a friend who is republican and even he doesn't have a problem with me but, it is the old-fashioned republicans that think this country is based on religion. freedom. freedom of religion, freedom of everything else. the right to life, liberty, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

it is being accepted more and more, but until the closed-minded, Bible-thumping bigots shut up and quit raising their children to be hateful as well, then it will be accepted more.
