You asked why is knowledge so important. My answer is because we have to strive for some thing, humans always do better when there is a reachable goal. You asked why life was so short... who's to say it isn't long. You compared 1 day and 110 years to 10,000 years, and I have to say, by the 100 year I'd feel pretty darn happy, smart, content, or what ever and could move on? Who's to say there's no life after death or that the cycle doesn't continue on some how? As for the people who suffer... God isn't punishing them, he's testing them, to reward them later. "If God brings you to it, then He will bring you through it."

OK, hello. Take a deep breath. Inhale, exhale, there you go.
What do you mean by "we can learn everything we needed to know without living?" I'm not sure I follow you on that one.
How do you know human life is short? Long/short or big/small is just a matter of perspective. Compared to certain bugs that live for but a day, our lives last for almost an eternity. I knew a six-year-old boy who accomplished more in his short life than many people do in 80 years. Do the best with what you have.
I won't need my education in heaven. Most of the stuff I learned in college is irrelevant to the afterlife. True, knowledge is important, but we are not here so we can learn everything there is to know. I know what I know, I know some things that I don't know, but I don't know other things that I don't know (and might never know).
I am not meant to have the answers for everything. No one is. People suffer from mind ailing diseases because we live in a fallen world and such things are often allowed to happen to us. Life here on earth has its ups and downs, but I am more concerned with my reservation for the afterlife to worry if I understand every aspect of this one :)

I love this train of thought. What is our ultimate purpose here on earth? We live, we die....what's it all for? Well, who can say? Isn't this the ultimate question of mankind? So if we can't answer the ultimate question of Why are we here? then maybe we should ask ourselves how we can best use our time here.(?) What would that look like? Is knowledge so important? What kind of knowledge is important? I think your questions propogate more questions, and I don't think there are any cut and dry answers, just a lot of ponderings. Ever read any of the philosophers? (Me neither, but I keep hearing how they wrote about these very things. Might be interesting to hear their views) Good luck in your pursuit of the mysteries of the universe. I always like a little mystery.

I think you are too focused on "knowledge" -- and that is just a byproduct of existence and experience. If you around long enough you will pick a few things and cometo some understandings -- noe of which we will never actually know for sure if they are correct or not.... think of the laws of physics...
Regardless of different people's education level / knowledge, I believe every human feels the same emotions and if you focus your questions on "love" and the simple miracle of existing as a completely unique individual, then I think it could bring additional insight to your question.
Why so focused on how vast the universe is (assuming you're taling about the universe as when you look up into the sky / stars). What about the vastness in the love a baby has for its mother, and the mother's deep emotions to the point that she will die for her child even when our very genetic make-up is wired to survive at all costs... and what about the vast universe inside each of us -- when you look into the space / stars within each cell??
I think that is the place to be looking and ultimately if you look into the smallest part of our make-up (atoms, etc) you will end up in outer space in the stars, and the farther you go out into space you will find that you are really just inside the atom of a cell of an ant somewhere on the planet....
And all of this "space" and material objects are connected, energized, aware of pure / simple love.
Does any of this make sense?? Great question, by the way.

The knowledge we need to learn while here is all we can about religion and the way back to heavenly father. We came here to receive our bodies as we were only spirits before. When you have a body you can experience so much more. I for one would not want to live for 1000 years in mortality where there are hardships, cruelty, and the general unpleasant things that are going on.

Your "why" question asks how the universe works. No answer yet on that. As for the purpose, I take the existential view: we make our own purpose for life. After all, it is our choice to live and survive.

whooaaaa there..... a bunch of questions within a question.... remember this, mankind lives on borrowed time.... and change is the epitome of life, nothing stays forever except change. the search for knowledge therefore is a quest to improve life and brought about changes.... so in a sense, life may come and go, mankind may cease to exist, without even knowing the answer to the basic question that is "W H Y???".....

These are all interesting questions. Quite simply, the best information I can give you is this...because life is so fleeting and there are no guarantees, enjoy every single second. Treat everyone that you meet with love and respect and you will find your life greatly enriched. Peace.

The purpose of human life is found in the one who placed us here. To know Yaweh, to understand His purpose for us, to worship Him. Seems like a cliche but when that knowledge is imparted to you, even in part, it becomes life itself.

The religious realm is actual to a spirit. Jesus resurrected in His crucified body and ascended to heaven in it. It says contained in the Torah that promotion comes no longer from the south, the east, nor the west, yet God is the choose. The inference is that God abides contained in the northernmost part of the section.
