At one point I recall there actually were plans or at least rumors of a fourth Mad Max...the working title was "Thunder Road". Then Gibson did "The Passion" and things changed.
Despite the action, Mad Max is the tale of a man who loses it all, then slowly rebuilds himself by aiding society. Guess I always wanted to see a final story where he meets another woman, has a kid and the story turns full circle. Is the new world he helped protect any different? Guess the final decision is still up to Gibson and director George Miller.

Yes, if they can make a real action movie with a three dimentional central character like Gibson's Max.
If the concept is an empty special effects extravaganza like the "Mission Impossible" movies, forget it! Ugh.

No, but they will anyway. If Mel won't do it, they'll write him out and come up with some other story. No original ideas in Hollywood anymore...Miami Vice (the movie!) due out soon...

What possible reason would anyone want to do a stupid thing like that for?
That's almost as silly as the new Rocky movie.
