If i was looking on the ingredients of something, like paint, would it be water based if the first thing listed is water?

For example would it look like this

Ingredients: Water, Disodium Guanylate, Inosinate........

Yes, that would be water-based. The ingredients are always listed in highest to lowest order. So the highest amount (the "base") would be water, then the second highest amount would be Disodum Guanylate, third highest would be Inosinate, etc....

If something is water based it means that the thing forms a suspension with water. Like the paints.

the solvent, or liquid the paint is dessolved, in it is water. As opposed to oil based paint where the oil is what the materials that are in the paint are dissolved in.

Yes, thats correct. This also means that you can remove it easily by washing it off with water.

not necessarily. i think it would be implicitly stated on the label.

something's water based if the solvent is water. like water-based correction fluid - you can dilute it with water if it dries up.
