If you go to a top school, it can definately help you get a good job.
A lesser school won't help as much. You might have a leg up with regional companies, but if you have no experience, you probably won't have much of an advantage over people with B.A. degrees in business.
On the other hand, if you already have a job, an MBA can often help you get a promotion.

As a "general" rule, people in business/finance/banking with MBA's tend to make more than those in the same field that do not hold MBA's. You really have to do a cost/benefit analysis. For example, if you make 6 figures already, it probably wouldn't do any good for you to go back and get your MBA. However, if you only make about $30k a year, you might want to consider getting your MBA.
What kind of job you get and how much you make when you graduate depends on a variety of facors, but the biggest factor will be the school that you attended along with your GPA. The average starting salary for graduates from the U of Michigan business school was $85,734 for the 2005 graduating class. The average starting salary for the class of 2005 graduates from Eastern Michigan was $50,050.
If you don't have much work experience and are looking to significantly increase your earning potential, the school you choose MUST have two things. First, the MBA program must be accredited by the AACSB. They are the organization that gives accredidation to MBA programs, much like the BAR gives accredidation to law schools. Secondly, make sure that the school has a good Career Placement program and the students are sought after upon graduation. Some schools, such as U of Michigan-Flint, have subpar Career Placement programs because the majority of students already have decent paying jobs and established careers. They are only going back for their MBA for the title, the pay raise, or their company is paying for it.

My first advice is to pick a really good school! Check their rating. Use the front door approach; visit them and interview with department heads. With an MBA, you will learn how to conduct practically any of the activities of business as a manager; since, there are common tasks to any business and common legal and governmental regulations. My best advice is to learn the particular companies' products, marketing potential, and future customer needs in great detail. A really good school, "NWU, PU and many others" will have a close association with really good companies.
Part of the education will be "on the job training" and could lead to a great position directly for them. In addition, a good few first semesters could lead to financial aid. Some great, high reward jobs for people with MBAs are with Venture capital firms. As a new graduate, you may have to start for mediocre salary; but, if you succeed, you may get actual shares in the successful ventures and reap substantial rewards and gain exciting experiences at a young age.

MBA isn't exactly for getting a job (although you could use it for that).
The main purpose of getting a MBA degree is learning about the business profession, so you can create your own business and have your own employees.
The amount of money you make depends on the
suscessful-ness of the business that you created.
