I hate it when I hear a band is breaking up or someone leaves why do they that? is it still the same after they go their seperate ways? (like with No Doubt, Creed and Go Betty Go) is it stupid to stop listening to the music from these bands or any bands that have broken up just becuase they are no longer making any music or have someone new in the band?

The only thing that is different about a band's music after they break up is the music's context - the knowledge on the listeners part that the band is no longer making music and put a finite end to their music history. So yes, it is stupid to stop listening to the music because of this one change. The music is still enjoyable, and should not be forgotten.

the most common reason for someone leaving a band is for "creative indifferences". take for example zach de la rocha leaving rage against of the machine. the rest of the band hooked up with chris cornell from soundgarden and formed audioslave. i still listen to all their music and IMO you should never stop listening to a band even though they dont make any new music because thats where true spirit lies.

Trends change these days real fast. What's hot today is dead tomorrow,I think most mainstream artists know that.So they want to stay hot sometimes that means going solo.If your a music fan you can always listen to your old CDs and enjoy them for what they are.As far as new stuff released by bands with replacement performers or solo artists let your ears decide for you.

i still like creed, no doubt, etc.
but just because they are no more doesn't mean not to listen to them, none of their songs have changed the way they sound, it's the music that counts try not to think of the band while listening.

I still listen but as far as going to a concert it's a little bit different. Like new INXS frontman, Journey's new frontman. The only time it worked was when VanHalen took on Sammy Hagar.

yes they rock but some feel they need either a break or need to go do other stuff. like- being a family,do solo acts,or wait 10 to 20 years to be heared from again.

yes it is, because if you really like the band you would still like that member's songs or band because they would still be the same.

Example: No doubt- Gwen Stefani ( people still love her)
