My friend told me he saw a commercial about how you can freeze your pets when you are on vacation and then thaw them when you get back. Is this true? The only thing I have found on the internet is how you can freeze them after they die. I am not joking...I really want to know. He said it was a commercial that came on when he was watching JAG.

I saw this commercial. It is actually an ad for a new TV show called Eureka on the Sci-Fi network. If you friend had looked in the bottom corner of the commercial they would've noticed it said it was all fake.

No, sorry, animals die just like people when frozen. There is no way of thawing them out without fatal cell damage. Your friend is either teasing you or misunderstood the commercial.
People are freezing their pets when they die in hopes that someday technology will be able to bring them back from the dead, but it is costly. No, really, I mean COSTLY!!!
Your money is better spent on a new pet to love than wasted on a frozen dead one. Better yet, donate that money to help pets in need, that is a great way to honor a beloved pet when it passes away.
