You are an illusion. You are supposititious for a vast void. You are energy, that forms matter, that produces energy. That is like an electron asking if it is real when it is magnetism that produces electricity, that produces magnetism.

You are something coupled with nothing. You are an entity of nonentity. You are something and nothing all in one. All in nothing. You are both.

I think it is your ego that realizes it is not real. Your ego causes you to feel as though you stand in contrast to the rest of the universe, to the rest of nature. That ego makes you feel as though you are a complete being with an end and a means. It makes you feel as though you are a point in creation. When in fact, we are pointless. You are the universe, and the universe is you. You are the abyss, and the abyss is you. You are everything, and you are nothing. You are a suppositition for the eternal void.

Answers to this question finds its acceptance , more dependent on the person's extent of evolvement in spiritual path. The question at once seeks shift of 'gear' into a deeper dimension !
Well, to find some appeal to the minds who say "OK, try convincing me,...(and perhaps I shall manage to listen to you atleast for sometime attentively!)" , I can make an attempt.
When you go to sleep, please see that experientially go to a nothingness (forget that you could be photographed, others can see you sleeping etc...), and when you miss sleep for a few days (even an accumulation of inadequate sleep, your something becomes a bit shaky ! This is the nearest logical , verifiable co-relation that can be offered to 'show' how your 'nothing' and the gross 'something' are connected !
Another thing, a rather weak reference, is that, there is a theory talked about by some (learned in science), that everything around us appears and disappears constantly at a very rapid rate, not within visible range and it is said, some bubble chamber experiment got a Nobel prize for demonstrating this theory years ago !
And it seems somewhere Buddha, too had talked about sub-atomic behaviour of matter, and that it blinks (vanishes and reappears) very rapidly !

Nothing can be nothing unless anything cannot be anything. Not anything can be nothing and also anything can be nothing. If nothing happens, then anything can happen to that nothing when something turns into anything or nothing. Things can be nothing and things can be anything but both are still things and nothing is the same opposite as anything. But nothing can also be nothing because anything can be anything.

nothing defines abscence. Absence of anything that could fill it, so nothing isnt anything. Numerically 0 does represent nothing, but its such a small representation (Numbers between the whole numbers (-1) - 1).

everything is something because to be nothing would mean that we are worth nothing, people place worth on things which makes them something- and everything needs to have worth otherwise this earth would be a whole bunch of worthless nothings

It's like asking " what does "nothing" consists of" "
You can use words to ask any types of questions. "Nothing", "anything", "something" is just words that we have created

There is no such thing as nothing. Opposites are a mere illusion of our reality and don't in actuality exist.
