I know this is really gross but at garden stores you can sometimes get bottles of fox or wolf pee. You pour it around where you don't want other animals to go and they think there's a fox or wolf so they stay away.
It's disgusting but it works.

We had possums in our yard and the only thing that worked was using a live cage to trap them. Every time we caught one we took it to a woods several mile away. We caught at least 7 of them. Haven't had a problem since.

Don't leave garbage back there. I guess there's live traps too, but why don't you want them there? Unless they're ripping open garbage bags (which is the only problem with them that I know of) then what's the harm? And if they are making a mess like that, just move the garbage.

I agree with the fox urine. My neighbor uses it, it smeels really bad, but there are no possums around.

We have them in our yard too they are so ugly and run passed us when we are outside! My dog barks at them! But yah I would like to know too!
