I live in California. I have M.S. and fibromyalga, and my husband has renal failure. I can stand for about 20 minutes washing dishes before I get tired and need to sit down. I cannot push a vacuum. Can't some California program help me afford a housekeeperor something?

jjissodamngreat - I work FULL time, and have for 12 years. I have paid my fair share of taxes. I had to quit working the only profession (retail management- 10 years) I have ever known and start over in a new career (business management). I am trying to work even with my disabilities. My husband however CANNOT work.
Perhaps if you were in my shoes, you would be a little more sensitive?

Perhaps this will help make a start... I found this on the state website. Check the heading "Services for Californians with Disabilities"

There are a fair number of links under the heading which may help you find the info you are looking for. Click on the link below to get there.

How about contacting a local MS support group in your area, or church. You might find someone who will volunteer to help you out.

Best of luck!
