Why fear the unknown on a plane and no where else?

over 60,000 people die each year in car accidents.
Do you fear driving to the store?

As far as the turbulance, chill out, you're getting a free roller coaster ride...

But if you are still nervous always sit in the back of the plane.

1) The bathroom is right there in case you need to pee.
2) There is usually an exit there as well
3) Planes don't back into mountains

Try to keep a few things in mind:
1) We have been developing air travel for over 100 years...almost as long as automobile technology and, in some ways, it's actually safer to travel on an airplane than in an automobile. If you want proof, look up some statistics. Thousands of people travel on airplanes every day, without incident. It's obviously a safe way to travel.
2) We have security measures which help guard against explosive devices being loaded onto airplanes via luggage or passenger. If anything like that somehow makes it's way onto an airplane, then I suppose it would just be your time to go.
3) Turbulance is nothing special...just air pockets. Think of a cruise liner plowing through some big waves in the ocean. You might feel them, but they pose very little threat to your safety.
I hope this helped you a bit. Traveling by air can be very enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

Tough question. I used to fly all over the world but I haven't been on a plane since 911. There is a reason to be concerned, but not a reason to be paralyzed by fear (like me). People tell me to "trust God." Maybe that will work for you. I'd feel better if I knew God was working in security. But I feel kinda ridiculous when friends are flying all over the place on business and vacations and I'm home stuck on stupid. Best advice is, it would be terrible to look back in your old age and have regrets for not having the courage to live life to the fullest.

Plan a trip to where you want to be. Take a pill. Go to sleep after boarding the plane. ---Wake up, be there, get over it and live. Enjoy life and see the world. Once you have flown, you'll realize that there really isn't much to worry about.
