I don't know about "band" The coasters are NOT rock & Rock! I believe that would be Aeorsmith w/ the original members, but surely the oldest living, American Rock n Roller still performing would have to be Chuck Berry the father of rock n roll himself and if you think he isnt touring anymore see below:

Not sure, but the first that come to mind are the Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones started in the early 60's and were sold as the bad boy version of the Beatles and they're still rocking today (Super Bowl anyone?).

IT has got to be the rolling stones they have been at it since the 1960's and they are all in their 60's !!!!!! Gotta love them though their songs anyway!!!!!!!
ok i just read you said they don't count! so i will give you another one their is a doowop rock band from the 50's called the coasters and they still perform in casino's as you say!
Also stepenwolf is fairly old and i think they still perform! they are from the 1960's!

The Rolling Stones are British, so they don't count. It's got to be some band from the fifties that probably plays in casinos now.

The Rolling Stones.....oops, British group........ Alice Cooper? He's about as old as dirt. Course, BB King is still performing and I believe he's in his late 70's.

I think Aerosmith they started back in 1973! Unless Fleetwood Mac is still touring they started back in 67 or 68!

The song "Orion" from the draw close of Puppets album is my own widespread bass song from even as Cliff Burton became there. He in simple terms made it sound mystical, yet heavy and magnificent.
