My husband had a vasectomy in 1997, two yrs. before we met. He had it reversed in 2000. It has been 6 yrs. since the reversal surgery & so far we have not had any luck getting pregnant.

You need to get a sperm count. If he is still above 20 million then you need to look to your own fertility. If he has dropped below 20 million you may need to get a second vasovasotomy or use IVF. You actually have a narrow window of oppurtunity between getting the reversal and the formation of scar tissue in the vas.

I don't think the chance is too bad, my dad had a vasectomy in his first marriage and then when he married my mom has had a reversal and well I'm here so maybe he should go to a dr. to check his sperm count.

My grandpa had one reversed and as a result had three more kids with his second wife. It took them about two years to concieve the 1st time, then the others came easily. Try a fertility clinic if you have the money. Good luck.

Have him wear boxers. That is just one thing you can do to try to get his sperm count up. Most are pretty good at reversing and hell my husband had one done in 97 as well and we just lost our first lil one( i miscarried last month) and he had no surgery to reverse it. Go to www.babycenter.com and look up conceiving for a list of things u both can do to help.

Good luck and it is not impossible, I bet as soon as you stop trying you will have one...it always works that way..lol

Definitely get the sperm test. That will let you know. If sperm are present, but in low numbers, you may be able to go the IUI route. More on that here...

Try again. They need to dig around a little more and find the tubes. It may take a few minutes or...a few hours but with enough digging, they can probably find it.
