She was in choir last year at school. I have found that I don't like the teacher she had. She will have the same teacher this year if she takes it again, I've told her that I don't want her to. Now here's the kicker her teacher has told her if she doesn't take choir with her again she will not be referenced by this teacher to be able to participate in high school choir. How should I deal with this, let her do choir with a teacher that I'm not sure I want teaching my child, or let her do choir one more year and hope for the best.
PS I have talked to the princapal but apparently I'm the only one who has made any "comments" on this teacher, although friends of my daughter tell me their parents think the same way.

well, it depends what you dont like about this teacher. if other parents feel the same way, either encourage them yourself to go report the choir teacher, or have their kids tell the parents to report the teacher. a teacher of mine once told me that since teachers are in such high demand, schools tend to want to fix the problem, rather than get a new teacher. I suggest that if this doesnt turn out the way you want it, then you find your daughter an out of school choir teacher... like singing lessons or something... then that teacher can recommend your daughter for highschool choir instead. good luck with your situation.

What you should do is get all the parents that think the same way and get them all together and talk to the principal, or you can not let her go, but explain why she can't and find and outside choir(like fine arts culturals). and you can stay there with her in case your still not sure of this next teacher.

Your daughter will run into teachers she doesnt like from tiem to time, in the real world there wil lalways be people you like and dislike whether it is an associate or a boss, your daughter will just have to cope with the teacher and take the class anyway with the same teacher.

Im still in high school anyway, and ive had a lto of teachers ive disliked, but disliking the teacher didnt really affect my performance in the class

get the other parents together and you all go and say you have a problem with the teacher if that doesn't work it is only one more year so let her just do it for one more year cause it would be bad if she couldn't do choir in highschool just cause of that teacher

try getting the other parents to get involved if it's something bad if not then call principal and tell he or she u do not want your daughter particapating in choir w/t that teacher but if your daughter feels she really wants to just let her after all if something happens im sure she'll tell u!

its your daughter that sits in her class every school day so she should get to choose. Remind her that this teacher is not the best but dont stress her into not taking choir becasue she may just say "fine! I wont take it!", just so you stop pressuring her to take it. Good luck and i hope i helped. :)

U should get together with the other parents and talk about it and have them talk to the principal also if they feel the same way... the Principal will probably change his or her mind about the situation.

P.S. Hopefully this helps u.
