I just think that the best shows were ones from the decades I was little and before I was born. And even when they're revived they usually come up with a lousy spin-off. There are just fewer and fewer shows out there worth watching nowadays.

I also agree! I was so upset to see Commander in Chief get cancelled. Why wasn't it tried on other days and times to find a better spot for it? Probably because it was about a woman as president and it was a quality show. I loved it and will miss it.

You hit the nail on the head with that question - no doubt about it!! Used to be there were a couple of good shows on every evening and you could just veg out in front of the tube if you wanted to. Now you're lucky to find one per night. There certainly isn't much worth watching any more.....at least not on network TV. Cable seems to have some of the best ones.

Why pay an actor a million an episode when you can hire 12 people off the street, and only have to pay one of them $100,000 for a whole season of a reality show.

Before long all that's going to be on T.V is reality shows. There won't be any shows on where you will actually have to think. What I don't get is that all these stupid shows are apparently getting good ratings. I guess the big questions is are people getting stupid because of the crappy shows or are the shows getting crappy because people are getting stupid and can't grasp the concept of good shows.

I think so too. The great shows today are being cancelled too. Seinfeld, Friends, Gilmore Girls (after this season), and Frasier are all cancelled and that really sucks. MTV and "reality shows" are taking over, and it is making me feel seriously saddened for the world.

Here is the dilemma. A hit show costs more and more as it goes on. The Network might kill a popular show to put one on that isn't as good, because costs are lowered for it.

But you lose audience (and revenue) because this expensive, popular, show is gone.

I agree with you. And if they do come out with a new cool show, they usually take it off the air soon after. It sucks.
