I have an 11 mo. old who has been sleeping through the night (10 - 12 hours, plus one 3 hour afternoon nap) since 2 mo. The problem is me....I will go to bed, get up two hours later from tossing and turning, stay up an hour to an hour and a half, then go back to bed for three to four more hours. This has been ongoing since I was about 5 mo. pregnant, so roughly a year and a half. Any suggestions on how to go to sleep and stay asleep. I'm running on empty with only 4 - 6 hours and running after an almost toddler all day.

You may need to see a doctor. If someone else that is reliable lives with you, you may see if they will attend to the baby if he wakes at night, while you take a sleeping pill and get some rest. Your best bet is to see a doctor.

I have been sleeping like that for about 20 years now, I know how frustrating it is. You might try taking an over the counter sleep aid or seeing a doctor for a prescription for one. Your sleep pattern got out of sorts and sometimes a sleep aid will get you back on a normal pattern.

I would go to a sleep specialist and get evaluated. The drugs they use to initiate sleep are addictive in nature, and you don't really want to be deep sleeping with a baby around and by deep i mean drugged. Perhaps the hormone shift caused a shift in your sleeping pattern. Either way... Go get evaluated. If you want a natural way, try the supplement melatonin over the counter, and take as directed by a physician or other health care provider.
