I spoke with the gyny nurse and she explained it like this. For a 21 Day cycle, we mensturate for up to 7days then not for two weeks, then start again. For a 28 day cycle, we mensturate for up to 7 days, then not for 3 weeks. Is this right? I always thought that a 28 day cycle meant that a woman had 28 days between periods.

Both are true 28 days is about 3-4 weeks and 21 days is about 2-3 weeks. Some women have irregular periods some dont. Depending on your body. Just make a symbol (like a dot or a circled p or something of your choice) just for you on your calender every day of your period. then count 28 days till your next one (28 days isnt exact its more of an estimate)

usually a woman has a 28 day cycle. This means she starts her period on Day 1 so that goes on for say 5 days. On day 14 she will ovulate and then the day after day 28 of that cycle will be day 1 again and that is when the period will start again.

The nurse must of been talking about 28 and 21 day Birth Control Pills. With 28 day pills you just keep taking pills every day, there will be 28 in a pack (the last 7 are usually just sugar pills). With a 21 day pack you will take 21 pills and then stop for 7 days and start all over again. On these 7 days that you didn't take the pills you are suppose to have your period. I find the 28 day pills must easier to follow because there is no stopping and starting.

I never heard of that. Are you talking birth control pills? 21 day pack means you take the pill for 21 days and during the week you are off the pill, you have a period. On the 28 day pack, you have 21 pills that are effective and 7 days of pills are just pills that are inert ingredients. During the 7 days of inert ingredients, you have your period.
