I have an 11 mo. old who has been sleeping through the night (10 - 12 hours, plus one 3 hour afternoon nap) since 2 mo. The problem is me....I will go to bed, get up two hours later from tossing and turning, stay up an hour to an hour and a half, then go back to bed for three to four more hours. This has been ongoing since I was about 5 mo. pregnant, so roughly a year and a half. Any suggestions on how to go to sleep and stay asleep. I'm running on empty with only 4 - 6 hours and running after an almost toddler all day.

I still do that and my youngest is 6 yrs. :oO Maybe you could try some melatonin, its natural and will help you sleep a little better without knocking you out :)

I do the same thing (which is why I am up right now at 1:40am & not sleeping while my 4 month old is). I used to take Simply Sleep by Tylenol (contains no medicine except diphenadramamine [sleep aid used in benadryl & other meds]) before I was pregnant, but I can't take it yet cuz my son doesn't sleep through the night & I don't want to wake up groggy (that won't be a problem if you can sleep 6 hours at a time). They are not addictive, but I don't know if there are any medical side effects...

I still do this also with three boys ages 12, 5 and 2. I totally agree with the Melatonin. You can find it by the vitamins. I use it and it helps. All of my kids are restless sleepers so I asked my pediatrician what to do and he is the person who originally suggested everyone taking Melatonin at bedtime. It has not only helped me but it has also helped my three sons. It is not addictive and it is something your body already produces, so give it a try.
Good luck, I completely understand how you feel.

What happen to yr hubby? If he can sleep through all this, u should ask him for help. I'll b in trouble if my wife cannot sleep.
Anyway r u anxious, or perhaps with something on your mind. Empty yr mind n do breathing excises concentrating on the breathing.

please see a Dr because that sounds like serious sleep deprivation and you cannot function normally like that. If you are drinking ANY caffeine at all, you should stop that immediately..... take a hot bath before bed and do not exercise before bed.
