When do girls stop being mean to each other? And is there any way to combat this direct agression?

I mean, I know that girls use indirect agression (such as rumors and shunning). But what I want to know is when they will just grow up and realize that what they're doing is extremely hurtful! I seriously think that I'm the only girl in the teenage world that has ever thought this...

Also, is there any way to somehow get it to lessen to a degree without getting hurt socially? And if not, is there just any way to lessen it period? Or will I have to wait until they finally become mature?

Try being my age (32) and still seeing and experiencing it....trust me.

I am afraid that girls like that never mature, and in the end karma is a big mother to those girls. I know how you feel because some of the girls made fun of me in high school by calling me "ugly black b****" a lot. Unfortunately it did not stop, not even in college the first go round. Once I learned to understand that most girls who shun, snub, and sneer other girls only grow up to be miserable young women whose sole, lame excuse for doing is that it makes them feel better and the person they do it to feel worse. It is jealousy plain and simple. But if they were to see you 15 years from now, they will probably be kicking themselves silly for being that way. I know a lot of my old classmates are, because this "ugly black b****" is turning a lot of men's heads and doing something with her life instead of being ignorant like they've become.

On this much I know: Ignorant, shallow, superficial girls never grow up...they marry rich husbands instead, who then leave them for women are not as shallow, not as superficial, definitely smarter and won't take s*** off of anyone.

I don't know if this answer helps you at all, but it should make you feel a little better knowing that, for every 5 girls who shun or start rumors about you, there are 15 who like you even more.

I am sorry but you will have to wait awhile in my opinion most girls will not quit being like that untill they are at least out of college, have a job and have a husband/Children then they will see that they was bad Girls. and Sorry to say that some never quit being like that. I would just be a nice person and not worry about what people say, it really does not matter in the long run!

Girls if u know are more worried of girls the look at them more then men looking at girls.hormonal issues and feminine ways allow them to have a lot of jealousy factor.
the best way to handle such girls is to ignore their comment.when she realizes it affects you her wish is fulfilled and she ll be ready fro another comment.the day u start taking her comments casual she ll leave u and search another girl who ll be victim. its the insecurity in them which speaks.encourage positive talks and interrupt her negative behavior by changing the topic. she will get the message . be absolutely comfortable when Someone criticizes, as if it is of no importance to you.this will encourage her to talk positive with you.if you give attention and more time and emotions to negative comments it gives her a positive feedback to repeat it. more than what she say it depends how you take it.if your self-esteem is strong it wont affect you i feel ...best luck

Some women, no matter how old they get are still catty.....they say hateful things about each other, and cut each other down......only as they get older, they learn to be more discreet about it....they don't so much say it to ur face....but they start spreading rumors behind ur back.....there's nothing u can do .....just try to be the nicest u can be....they'll get bored w/ being mean to u.........Good luck!

yeah, i totally agree with you. and the retarted thing is is that when your friends are saying rumers and just mean stuff and you like tell them that what they're saying is just stupid and hurtful, they go and talk about you behind your back. pretty much most girls are just stupid. what i did was get over most girls stupid drama and rumers and talk to all the guys :D

you should try it yourself...it is quite fun...no, Im kidding...be confident and dont let them get to you...it'll be just as good as slapping them in the face! Go hang out somewhere else when you see them.....I always like to fight back!
