When it comes to looking iPods, this can become confusing.

G, means "Generation"...
GB, means "Gigabyte"

So 4G 20GB iPod means, 4th generation iPod with a 20 gigabyte hard drive.

gb or gig or just g represent the memory.

ipod nano memory
ipod 1 gig can hold 240 songs
ipod 2 gig can hold 500 songs
ipod 4 gig can hold 1000 songs

ipod video memory
ipod video 30 gig can hold 7500 song
ipod video 60 gig can hold 1500 songs
but for the video ipods the more memory the thicker the ipod . the nano size is the same on all memory sizes
