If you have no partner then yeah you are single. If you do than you are partnered.

There are a number of classification in this regard:
1. Married 2. Single 3. Divorcee 4. Widow etc.
If you are not or never married then you must fall under the category of SINGLE.

Absolutely...I hate it when some form asks me if I'm divorced, married, or single. Heck, I was single the day my divorce was final. I'm not married! So why does it matter to anyone if I'm divorced in most instances?!

If you are not married then, yes, you are single. However, if you have ever been married but no longer are; you must be separated, divorced, or widowed. Having an annulment doesn't count, you would be single.

If you aren't married then you aren't married.
To me single means you are not in any type of romantic relationship.
But if you are filling out some sort of official form or something then is anything other than married, divorced, or widowed.

it's confusing because you could have a boyfriend, but technically you are still single... by law, well unless you are living together. But I guess yeah you are single until you are married!

in the eyes of the government, yes. For most people, no. Someone who is in a relationship or engaged will most likely not consider themselves single.

here's how this works:
if u have NEVER been married u r single
if u have been married but are now divorced u r divorced
if u have been married and ur spouse died u r a widow/er

If yur not married then you are sort of free to do what you want. Unless, your in a relationship and you and your boyfriend talkd about what you can and cannot do or something like that.

Depends on if you are in a relationship or not. On legal papers, yes you are single.
