I see the same faces (avatar) over and over saying basically the same thing. I also see ridiculously offensive racial slurs.. that almost seem to out there to be genuine.. are we all taking part in a giant social litmus test?

PS.. just because someone asks a question doesn't mean that they've come to any conclusion.. I for one am fascinated by the level of hostility that is displayed in political chat groups (watch the answers from this one), but I wonder if it isn't just a release like laughing or crying. A necessary vent for a frustrated planet..

PS..PS... I was wrong , all the answers displayed a marked level of restraint and consideration.. and so, I wonder if it isn't more "how the question is asked" than what the question actually is that makes people react so intensely .. thank you all for your thoughtful comments..

These aren't government agents.

These are paid political puppets. They come into such forums to spread their agenda and trash anyone who might disagree.

They did the same thing before the last election, lurking in all the more popular sites, anywhere from Yahoo Chat to Project Greenlight.

I know this because we caught them in Project Greenlight, traced their e-trails and blew their cover.

The P.S. part, I believe, is true. This is due to what happened with the Vietnam War. Good people kept their mouths shut while the America hating Liberals like Hanoi Jane and Tommy the Commie (Hanoi Janes husband) and about 3000 others made life miserable for returning Vietnam Vets. I believe most Americans are not going to let this happen to the Vets of this war.

I think you hit the nail right on the head by saying this is just a vent for some people, I think most people are'nt really looking for answers in the political section, rather they are just displaying their views and trying to guage how many people agree with them , so unfortuantely there is very little dialogue and way more pointless bickering and insults. As for if intelligence agents are monitoring the posts here, I would'nt doubt it although I would'nt think so for the reason that I don't think the CIA or DIA has enough manpower to go around surfing websites and seeing what people are saying, although a part of me hopes so.

Why the hatred? To many people are ignorant and or scared or both of whatever they have the reaction to.. race, politics etc. Some people just seem to get off trying to make other people share their opinions. In the political thing, I replied to one where this guy was just bashing anything about ol Dubya. I expressed my views with reasoning and man did that set him off.. hehe he acted like a fenced in dog that see's the postman coming.

But thats just the way some people are. To inflexible to consider any other view but their own. Racists, Ultra Right or Left wingers.. we could do much better without them. But I have to admit, it would be a boorish planet with much less entertainment to watch.

Working them? If you mean instigating any specific kind of behavior through subtle impressionism, I'd say not.
Are there agents logging people'squestions and answers, looking for signs of terrorism, pedifiles or other illegal activites, more than likely. In all sense of the term, this is a public place, no different than the corner store.

It may be a place to vent, but what you put out into the universe comes back to you, positive or negative, in one form or another.

Not only that, but it adds to humanity's collective consciousness and you need to figure out if you want to decrease that further or expand it to be something better.

seriously ... think about it ... its not a "conspiracy theory" mind set to think that could be just the case ... you cant put anything past anyone in this world ... not your neighbor or your government or "big brother" ... i mean seriously .. humans will do anything they have to do ...to get whatever it is they want or want to know ... just like Columbus and the round earth ... you are crazy till some one proves you right anyway .. so yeah i would say if would be underestimating to foolish to think that some one is not doing that very thing
