I have a shotgun and I have never hurt anyone with even a bb gun. Why do we need guns? Because if the goverment becomes a tyrant or communist then we will need to rebel. Do you really think that if you pass a law against guns that Gang-banger will just turn over their guns? Or the mob? No, the only people that will are people like me. Law biding citizens. I believe it's our right to own an assault rifle if we want to. Just because a hunting rifle cannot compare to an assault rifle. But I am confident that If some one attacked me in my home with a gun I could kill them with any knife I own. Why? Because statistics say that most gun crimes are commited within seven feet. I can nail you in the throat with a knife from twenty feet away. Do the math. Most gang-bangers can't shoot anyway. But do I feel confident that I could take out a commando with kevlar and an assault rifle with a knife? I do not. That is the main reason we need guns. Not for hunting, not for defense(although alot of times you do) but for rebellion. I know what you are thinking, "Oh my god the evil word!!" But our founding fathers agree with me. Thomas jefferson namely.

"The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." -
"I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."

I support gun control, but only of assault weapons!

I also support the 2nd Amendment, though I don't think restricting some weapons is unconstitutional. I can just see someone driving down the street in a jeep with an M60 mounted on the vehicle!!

I also do not believe in registering rifles. Nothing like telling the government where they all are!!

And yes, iI have a copy of the 1939 decision of the US Supreme Court.

Guns don't kill people, bullets do. Today Washington D.C. declared a state of emergency regarding a recent crime wave. D.C. many years ago passed legislation banning firearms in the city limits. This should be an excellent example to all proponents of gun control of what happens.

The soviet union supported gun control. Every communist nation supports gun control. The United Nations and every globalist, socialist group in history supports gun control.

Here's why:

No one wants to live under communism, fascism, globalism, socialism, or other forms of total government. Therefore, it stands to reason that such governments oppose private ownership of firearms. You can't enslave someone carrying a gun. Live free or die.

You know what's really sad is liberals who believe that the communist threat is over. That's crazy, when 75% of the world is socialist, and countries like Russia, China, Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and more are completely Red.

There are only a few capitalist countries left. Ours isn't one of them. We have a federal income tax and a federal corporate income tax, which means half of our income is federally regulated. Which means we are already 50% communist.

Learn what these words mean. Federal regulation of private income is the entire meaning of communism. End of story.

No free person wants to live under federal or global communism. No one does. That's why we need guns. And, we also have creeps and murderers among us, we need to defend ourselves. It's not like the police can do anything but deter crime, and they cannot even do that very well.

Everyone misinterprets the second amendment. The right to bear arms was not for hunting and survival purposes it was for the following reasons:

1) The US and each state would have a well-regulated militia on-hand to protect the homeland.
2) The people of the US would have another card in controlling government.

Allowing the government to take away your weapons is giving the government even more unconstitutional power over your life.

I do. While I believe in the right to own a gun, our founding fathers never envisioned automatic weapons, rocket launchers and the ilk. They were concerned with protection and hunting, not the ability to murder people without any thought. I have a friend who has 57 guns, why? If the first 56 dont stop the guy, get on your knees and beg for forgiveness for angering him.

I had a prof in college who taught constitutional law and other government classes and he believed he should be allowed to own a tank if he wanted to and had the money. He also had great reasoning and evidence from the history and the constitution to back up his argument. while I don't think I would own a tank I do believe it is a right for law abiding citizens to own firearms. I lived next to an ex navy seal who owned a number of firearms automatic and single shot, pistols to rifles to shotguns and never felt safer.

I just want to say I love guns and I believe in the American right to have guns, and I am also a very proud Democrat. Just cause you vote Democrat does not mean the CIA will be storming your property becuse you own a gun, although it seems if you vote Republican the CIA will storm your property for no reason.

But it's not going to jump off the wall. There are tales of people who have had a heated argument, grabbed the gun and shot a person BECAUSE the gun was the nearest weapon of choice.
