I never really understood this until I saw a recent study that asked men and women to rank their 5 most essential needs in a relationship. For men, sex was number one. It wasn't even on the women's list. For women it was security which wasn't on the men's list. I found it really interesting and realize what a vital part of a relationship it was. When I realized his need for sex was just as important as my need to have a house, pay the bills, eat, etc. it helped me understand the importance so much more. I loved sex but didn't really see it as a "need."

I don't know....It's a must for some women too. For instance, I get really cranky and will 'start $h!t' if I don't get it at least 2x a week...thats minimum too.
I guess its about peoples hormones and how they get built up etc...some women have excess testosterone which makes them a lot more in to sex.

For men, sex is a physical need, for women it is emotional. Women do not need sex, but they want it when they feel they need to feel love. Many women substitute sex for emotions.

Yes. There is no way that I could stay in a sex-less relationship. I doubt most women could either.
