We were together for 3 years before we got married and had a child after the first year. Everything was fine until we got married and then it was like I was living with a different person. We lasted 14 months after we got married and then I told her I wanted a divorce because I found out she was using drugs around our child. I have full custody of my child and we are both happier now. ...( the child and I )

First - dated year and 1/2, lived together 2 years, married 17. Three great children, all self-supporting adults now.

Second - dated 2years, married 3, will be divorced before 4th year is through. One adult, non-working, criminal stepson who is a great big leach on his father and dad can't say no.

Was single from May 1990 thru May 2003 - made own decisions, accepted responsibilites and didn't have to spend time getting a husband out of whatever mess he got himself into. Today I am dealing with current husband's overdrawn checking acct. He wrote several checks, then drew out $25.00 to give to his son - They all came back to bank last night. Cost him 2$ in ATM fee plus 75$ in overdrawn fees to give his adult son that 25$. Son should be working 2 jobs and paying his father back. This man is going to be supporting this kid for rest of his life and I am not staying for this as I am already paying all the other bills we have. (I make 45,000 a year, my husband makes 13,000 to 15,000 a year.

I was married twice and I have never had kids. I did help my ex to raise his 2 kids, tho. I was married for 13 years the first time and less than 2 years the second time. I am now engaged to someone who is the total opposite of my ex. And we had dated for 3 years before getting married each time.

Which time? I was married 20 years to my first husband. No children until our 5th year. We dated 2 years before getting married. He found someone much younger and was gone. I was married 6 years to my 2nd husband. No children. We dated 1 1/2 years. He went looney toons and I took off.

We dated for almost a year and then I became pregnant. We married 4 months before I gave birth to our daughter. 15 months later I gave birth to our son and 1 year later we were divorced. Hope this helps.

I dated my former husband for 3 months, and he proposed for marriage. We remain legally married (not living together, just signed the legal papers) for less than 6 months, and I filed for Deed of Separation which took 3 years to fulfill. Thereafter, a court appearance was required and I was finally 'discharged' from this marriage. No property, kids custody, and monetary issues involved.
