Hell no! Rednecks are the most patriotic people of our country, and if not for them, then we'd be a tird world country.

I think the term redneck is used mostly in a derogatory context these days but the funny thing is people who are called redneck know this and still don't mind. Redneck originated, I think, to refer to someone who had a red neck, meaning the area between the shirt collar and hairline was red from sunburn. This implies several things... one - short, groomed hair (long hair would cover the neck) and two - someone who works outside like a farmer or rancher. These are people who are definitely NOT afraid of a long, hard day's work. In other words a redneck was originally a good, clean, hardworking somebody from the country.

I think most real rednecks know this and that is why they are not offended to be called redneck, even if the person doing the name calling maybe doesn't mean it in a nice way.

I am so proud to be Redneck. If I could be any other hyphenated name I cannot imagine what it would be. It would bother me if I had to be politically correct. I can say what I want and if it pisses someone off...I blame it on being a dumb Redneck. I hope they never find out that I am putting them on.
It must be heritage...My entire family are Rednecks.

Red neck is more overly considered a way a person acts.

Red necks are described as uneducated, racists/fascists, poor, without etiquette and so forth.

For example: If someone calls you a redneck, don't take it as a compliment.

The term Red Neck refers to the sun burn that farmers get while working in the fields. These days it has also come to mean people that live the country, doublewide trailor, drinkin' beer from a dixie cup, leavin' your christmas twinkle lights up all year long life style.

I don't think being a red neck is a bad thing. Some of the nicest people I know are red necks.

Is it good not to be a redneck? Rednecks seem more American and comfortable with it more than anyone else.
