I love to watch both but if I had to pick a favorite it would be NASCAR.
NASCAR has more races and a longer season. The racing action is closer and there's more passing. But, there's nothing cooler in motor sports than an F1 race car. Everything about it says "fast". The F1 drivers have to have lightning reflexes to hit their marks on the track. One small mistake, and they're in the "kitty litter".

F1 is the more entertaining. Sure, there's a lot of bureaucracy and a lot of the rules (qualifying, tire changes, so on) don't make sense, but it's the pinnacle of motor racing. The technology is second to none, and the cars are the most advanced in the business. Street tracks are lot more dynamic than ovals too. Each track has its own unique pros and cons. With ovals, whatever the track, it is the same conveyor belt of cars going round in endless circles. It's also truly a worldwide circuit. The drivers, much like the races, come from every corner of the globe. The tracks are less cluttered too. F1's 22 drivers makes more sense than the 40 or so who start each Nascar race. Given that only a handful of drivers are seriously likely to win any race, there is a limit to how many cars you really need on the track.

If you want precision, then F1's your race.
It's the pinnacle of racing technology and application, with arguably some of the best drivers in motorsport. Don't take my word for how difficult it is, talk to Jeff Gordon. After he did his test run in the Williams F1 a couple years ago he was asked if it could be a move for him. He turned it down. When asked why he said something like he was not in good enough shape to do it and he had no idea that driving under those conditions and high-G forces was *that* demanding.
Nascar has the drama. Most ardent watchers that I know don't care so much about the technical side of it, they care about who is hitting whom on a weekly basis, where the arguments are, who threw their helmet, etc. they care about the stroies and the drama.
That's why nobody watches IRL. F1 fans are bored with it because it pales where technology and ability comes in, and the Nascar crowd gets bored because nobody is bumping and swearing and wanting to kill each other.
It's personal preference and I'd say that neither is really 'better', it just depends on what you're looking for.

I particularly am a fan of Nascar!
However, I have never been to see F1 or really sat and watched a whole race, so I am not going to judge something I know little about, like a lot of F1 fans do to Nascar!
Obviously Nascar is more famous, you see it everywhere!

Duh...... Formula 1 is the BEST MOTORSPORT EVER!!!!!!
Nascar is just a bunch of dizzy guys driving round and round an oval 200 times to get rid of that dizziness. A Nascar car looks like a log. A F1 car looks way more sleek and aerodynamic. It has to be. Otherwise it wouldn't stay on track.
I don't even know why Montoya moved from F1 to nascar.
Plus, if you're a good driver, you can start last and come out with solid points. I think Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher have proved that in numerous occasions. Especially Raikkonen, with his brave rives from the back of the grid.

I actual love them both. they're very very distinct and that i'm happy they're. Ask Nascar followers what they love about Nascar and also you received't locate those issues in F1. Ask F1 followers what they love about F1 and also you wont locate those issues in Nascar. lack of expertise spews from both camps in this one. F1 is better depending round 'interest' and Nascar is better depending round leisure. Nascar is a chilly tall draft beer and F1 is a pitcher of extreme priced fantastic wine. Being a nut for both, i'm hoping neither ever will change into better like quite a few different. they're both astounding yet of their personal way. I purely desire human beings may carry better comprehend for the only they dislike.

It depends on what you are looking for as a fan. I find NASCAR to be better because the level of competition is much better. A Formula 1 race is normally over (outside of mechanical failure) very early in the race. NASCAR can keep your attention through the entire event.

formula 1 got the best high tech cars in the world. nascar are the hardest cars to drive. formula 1, you have to be at the top of your game, one mistake, your out. nascar, you can make a mistake and still be competitive, if you team is good enough. formula 1, if you start 1st, most likely your going to win. nascar, you can start last and still win, better chances. i personally like nascar better, more passing, competition, closer point standings, more cars.
