I died my hair yesterday and I'm pregnant. The funes are what can hurt the child, not the actual dye. It is fine to die it if you have a fan blowing the fumes away from your face. Some women believe that you cant, but that is because later in pregnancy some hormones in your body can make you hair not hold the color. Good Luck!!

Yes you can because so few of the chemicals actually go into your body through your scalp. I would wear a painting mask though to keep the fumes out cuz some of those things can be strong & may make you sick to your stomach. I colored my hair all throughout my pregnancy & my son is perfectly fine.

I would wait until the second trimester to be on the safe side. Also try dying with Aveda all of their hair dyes are natural.

yes you can. There is no proof that it can harm your baby. Someone said not to do it in the first trimester.. I disagree!! If you are going to stop dying your hair, then it should be in your 3rd trimester. It's in this trimester that it would most likely effect your baby. There are hair dyes that have NO smell to them, ask your stylist.

It has not been proven to be harmful, but it is usually suggested to err on the side of caution as it is thought the chemicals can get to the baby. If you must, it is acceptable to use all natural dyes.

how far along are you? I dyed my hair at 5,6,7, months. My doctor said it was okay. I would ask before you do it though. I didn't use any kind of special dye and the baby is due any day now, and she is perfectly fine. if you have any q's e-mail me at haleysmommy26@yahoo.com

I am 21 weeks pregnant and I asked my doc about it a while back. She said it is fine after the first trimester, just make sure you do it in a well ventilated area.

Why would you want to even consider putting your baby at risk for a defect. I waited until after my baby was born and just rode out my pregnancy with lots and lots of roots!

i heard britney spears dyed her hair with some vegetable or organic hair dye. i'm not sure where you'd buy it; try specialty beauty stores like Ulta or go online to beauty.com
