how far away are you from the router? check the router settings... maybe it won't automatically give you an ip address and you have to specify one in windows. to do that,

1.Open Network Connections.
2.Right-click the network connection you want to configure, and then click Properties.

3.On the General tab (for a local area connection) or the Networking tab (all other connections), click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.

3.Click Use the following IP address, and do one of the following:enter 192.168.0.(here either try1-9 to tes it)and under that 255.255.255.0

Your PC thinks there's no DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to answer its request for an IP address.

Most likely cause is that there really isn't a DHCP server.

1. If it's a home LAN / WLAN, make sure there's a DHCP server configured somewhere. Most combo router-APs have an option to enable DHCP.

2. If the AP is already configured as a DHCP server, but it's stopped working, then reboot it.
If you have a separate internet access router running DHCP, then reboot that also, and check cables to make sure the AP is plugged into the LAN.

I've also seen laptops get confused when moving between different wireless networks, and lose the ability to renew their address. So,

3. Reboot the PC.

Of course I've been assuming that you're talking about an "infrastructure" wireless network. If you're trying "ad-hoc" connection between two wireless PCs then that's completerly different.

Check for the correct SSID,Encryption keys.. this is probably problem in authenticating to AP.It worked sometimes restarting machine or disbale/enable NIC.
