I like watching movies that are really good or awesome. I don't want to waste my time seeing a movie that got 2 out of 4 stars. or so-so reviews. But so many people do watch them, and then I ask them about it, and they say "eh, it was alright"....They spend 10 bucks to see it and waste 2 hours of their time, for an "alright" movie.

I usually check reviews before a movie, and rarely see movies cuz they mostly suck. I usually check yahoo reviews or rottentomatoes.com before i watch something..

What are your views on seeing mediocre to horrible movies? thanks.

I like to form my own opinions about movies instead of relying on the opinions and reviews of others. Of course, I don't like it when the movie turns out to be bad...but there's many movies that get great reviews that I hate, and many that get bad reviews that I love. Screw reviews; be your own person.

I can't do that, I have to see for myself if the movie is bad or not.
I did that with Chicago and it was terrible I thought it was going to be good because of all the reviews.
I have to rate the movie myself I can not go by what other people think there are a lot of movies that got a bad review and they ended up being the best for me so to each his own you know what I mean.

You got to see a movie before you know that it's bad. Human tastes differ, what you may feel is good could be boring to someone else and vice versa.

Reviews are also personal opinions of a particular person or set of persons.

What you enjoy is what matters.

Happy viewing!

I only watch a bad movie if I don't have the choice because my significant other picked it, otherwise I change the channel or take the dvd out. If the movie doesn't grab me within the first 15 minutes then it's outta here

I make movies....I need to see the good AND the bad. To see where a production has worked and not worked. Even masterpieces have faults, just like life has faults.

In YOUR world of logic, there would be no cues to wait in when doing Christmas shopping and Gasoline (petrol/ fuel) would cost a quarter (20c) a gallon (litre).

People like their "art" like they like their fast food ... simple and the same ALWAYS. They prefer a Big Mac because it's ALWAYS mediocre much like an Adam Sandler or Wayans Brothers movie. They would MUCH prefer not being challenged by their art to feeling comfy. TV draws us in the same way to the familiar over the arty which in the big picture is fine as I prefer empty theaters for MY films.

Some people just love watching movies or experiencing the movie at the movie theatre. Also, you can't trust all reviews.

(if I ever do)I usually see those kinds of movies intentionally out of curiousity or just "But it has SUCH A GREAT CAST... How could it go wrong???".
In those cases, I try to wait until its at the cheep theaters for 2 dollars and then see them when I am REALLY bored. Such as a Sunday afternoon.

Thinking for yourself should never be discouraged. I have enjoyed plenty of movies that the critics didn't really enjoy. If money is the issue,go to early cheaper shows.Peace.
