They'll veto everything he tries to pass and make his last year or two highly ineffective.....and continue the Republican/Democrat cycle.....

Well, the total ignorance of America's political system displayed in this thread so far is pretty frightening. Hint: Congress doesn't veto anything. That's the President's perogative. Congress has the power to override a presidential veto, but that's another story.

The Democrats might pick up a seat in the Senate but I think it's more likely that they won't. I think it's also quite unlikely that they'll pick up more than one or two seats in the House. The Republicans will maintain majorities in both houses of Congress, and economic and financial life will go on getting slowly worse for the vast majority of Americans.

By the way, if the Democrats win power back in 2008, economic and financial life will go on getting slowly worse for the vast majority of Americans too. This isn't a partisan issue at all.

Don't be fooled by the lie that the Democrats or the Republicans stand for anything. And don't be fooled by the lie that they are enemies. It's all a game of two card monte. They pass each other's pork spending bills, bicker and argue over who gets the most money, never do anything positive for the nation, and wait for your campaign donations in the fall.

Neither party has any meaning anymore. They are both entrenched, bloated, supported by corporations, and are greedy socialists. The only difference between them is the R and the D.

Even the "conservative" Republicans have failed to seal the border, or solve any social or moral crisis facing this country.
And they cannot get all the credit for keeping terrorism away, because they need Democrat votes to do so.

The fact is, they are both liars and manipulators. Don't buy a word they say.

If you're a liberal, vote Green.
If you're a conservative, vote Constitution party.
If you're middle class, vote Libertarian.

If you're insane, vote Republican or Democrat and keep these pigs in office.

They will force our country to be divisible by law, and the Senate bill is only one in a long string to convince you to give up what you have or could work for or raise your families in a new age of inequality. Everyone that I've seen makes no distinction between legal and illegal and will tell you how successful legals are but not address the illegal issues. I have seen future interpretations of laws that say employers are required to give all of their jobs to migrant nations - Mexico in our case - over any American! That will come from the United Nations!!

It's not the party - it's who will defend American Soveriegnty from Bush, the UN, SPP, Nasco Corridor, Mexico and all other nations that use our laws to overthrow our constitution!!

For those that are clueless, THE UN IS FIGHTING FOR THE FALL OF AMERICA BY LAWS ABOVE OUR CONSTITUTION. Now you know why some politicians are catching on and threatening to stop UN funding or replacing personel that aren't fighting for America.

If for the loss of America to the Senate Bill and this issue, their will be no other issues.

What does this stupid guy mean? It means once King George the IV of America finds a way to end our soverignty, and he's working hard on it, the contract of the constitution between our government and the people will be null and void.

Having a majority in the senate or the house holds considerable amount of power...the majority party selects the chairmen/women of the various subcommittees (ie the armed forces committee), makes the legislative calendar, etc and can promote/pass legislation, and block other legislation from passing (this also is reflected in the approval of nominees). furthermore, it would give more democrats a more influential position to run in 2008 and be competitve with some of the big name republicans (for example mccain)...this election is not merely a throughaway (also remember the senators being elected serve for 6 years...meaning they will be around for the entire term of the NEXT president unless they resign or passaway)

Yeah, but they can block any of his spending bills for more war materiel and any additional wars he might want to start because his sick little mind has decided its time to kill more people. And maybe - just maybe - someone will have the intestinal fortitude to introduce a bill of impeachment and we can get rid of him. Of course, they'd have to introduce one on Cheney next or at the same time.

Bush's mentality is such that at any time you can expect to hear the fool say "let's just nuke all the Muslims in the Middle East and let God sort them out." Isn't it best to get rid of this dangerous psychopath before he says that?

So let's hope the Democrats do win in November and we can see some sense of normalcy return to Washington and that will start with a bill of impeachment.

A democrat senate = a leash around the presidents neck

Presidential election isn't until 2008, so a Democratic "win" this November don't mean diddly.

With a majority in either house, democrats would finally be able to investigate the white house for (insert scandle here).
