If the both of you are not happy in the marriage and the both of you know it, then chances are he's already thinking about it and is probably wondering the same thing. How to tell you that its over and he wants a divorce. Wouldn't it be a switch if he does it first?
But if you want a good clean break and not hurt his feelings, I would ease it on him. Don't do or say things that you would regret doing later on. But if you don't care about his feelings then just tell him how you feel and whats about to happen. Either way the idea is for the both of you to start fresh.
Good luck to you.

I don't know what answers you've received thus far but I will say this... My wife would have benefited from this site because she was sneaky and vindictive and waited until everything was in place for her departure before she told me. All this as well as having someone else ready and waiting. I was shocked and devastated. Please don't say "you should have known" or "you should have seen it coming". It's insulting and hurtful to him if he truly didn't know, like me. We also have a child. The life I knew for almost 10 years was over in 5 days. She had already dealt with her feelings for God knows how long and I had minutes. Think everything through carefully, then talk to him...with an open mind and make sure this is truly what you want. If he loves you, if you love each other, it will work out in the end...whether you stay together or not.

Do not take the advice to just pack up and leave. At one time you loved this man enough to marry him now you owe it to him to tell him. It will not be easy because you will probally break his heart. But he deserves more than coming home from work one day and you and all the household belongings being gone. I feel this is a cowards way out. All you can do is be honest at this point tell him why you want the divorce and anything else you may feel you need to tell him.
Just be honest he at least deserves that.
Good Luck

Uh, I have an idea......Tell him.
Sometimes, the easiest way to say something difficult is to just say it. Be prepared however to answer a lot of questions, especially if this will be a shock to him and he would never see this coming!

When my ex( of 18 yrs) brought me home from the hospital after I had a nervous breakdown due to his adultery. I simply turned to him in the car as he parked it in our garage and said" Remember you bought this car for me for my B-Day? Well get your sh&t out of it, and don't forget to grab a few things from the house! I called your Mommie and told her her baby boy is coming home! Your old room is waiting and I am sure Mommie has cookies baking for ya!"

Ask him to sign divorce papers. Make sure he has a job. If he doesn't work, you will become his sugar daddy.

Just be honest and straight up about it. Don't hold anything back. But make sure that's what you want before you tell him. And good luck
