I am a Canadian working in Taiwan.
My husband is a Taiwanese.
I'd like to sponsor my spouse to Canada.
Here is our situation:
- We don't have any children.
- He already applied the visitor visa that would expire after 5 years.
- He bought 10 days of group air plane ticket.
- My husband will withdraw the return trip, which means we' re not going back to Taiwan in short times.
- We already prepared all the required documents.

Questions:
1. Can we tell the customhouse that we're going to apply for the sponsorship in Canada? Will he let him into Canada?
2. Will the customhouse give him half year of extension to stay in Canada?
3. Since I don't have enough income to support him. Can my husband provide his financial capability? Will they accept it?

Thanks for reading my questions. Many thanks!!!!

your details are confusing..you mentioned he already applied for a visa which would expire for 5 years? why is he going to Canada with a visitor visa if you are already married? Yes. you can tell to immigration that you are going to sponsor your husband or change his status as temporary visitor..and then half a year of extension? applying for permanent residency would only take year and months and I don't think you have intention to stay permanently together..so not worth even getting a work permit.it always take time and effort for everything.
The Immigration will decide about all the documents you send. we can't tell it here..they are authorities for this matter.
Well, the best thing is to visit the Immigration website and search for more important details you need..As far, you are a Canadian citizen and I don't see there is nothing to worry about sponsoring your husband because you both are married now, for the meantime you would be the principal sponsor until he got his work permit..but in your details it does not mention he is planning to work..so it would be good to prepare your financial statements now..
As far, the immigration processing fee has gone down..

hope this helps a bit..you need to search more for information directly from the Immigration..

first of all support means u have to have enough money. because while u r supporting him he cannot work. I know it because my husband is supporting me right now. As long as u r married govermend cannot deport him and have to extend his vizitor viza. when he is in canada u have to fill the application forms, which is a pain in the ***, and have to pay $1040 something like that. And I think it takes around 7-12 months to get a SIN number and work.

If you are a Canadian and want your husband to move to Canada, ask some of your family to sponsor him.
