How do I make Windows Media my default player?

Question

When inserting an audio CD, it keeps wanting to go to
Music Match Jukebox player. On Windows Media Player I
went to tools, options & file types and checked them all and
hit apply but it unchecks the CD playback as well as mp3
when inserting the disc to play it and Music Match pops up.
What can resolve this issue, please?

Here's what you want to do. Go to the Control Panel, and double click the Add/Remove Programs icon. On the left hand side, you'll see an icon for "Set Program Access and Defaults". Click the radio button for "Custom", and under the "Choose a default media player" heading, select "Windows Media Player". Make sure the adjacent checkbox called "Enable Access to this program" is checked.
Hit "Ok", and that should do it.

Right click a music file then press open with. then select windows media player. Make sure u check that little box that says "always use this program to open these files"

On Windows Media Player goto Tools then hit the tab called "File Types" Hit select all(Or choose what you want) hit apply and your done.

Tools>File types>Select all>Apply.

just go in to tools on WMP and thrn files type and thenselsect the file that u want to make default for ur player

or on the other player deselect the same file extention

right click the music file and open with windows media player. check the box "always use this program bla bla bla"

go into options on Media Player then go to preferences, one of the tabs will allow u to set media player to ur default player.

go into music match and change your options otherwise you may have to delete one of the two and when you are re installing decide whether you want to make it default player or not , depending on which one you are re installing.
