where on the hip? on the fleshy part, or across the points where the flesh is thin beween skin and bone?
if on a fleshy part, then it shouldn't hurt as much....if it is on a bony part, then you will feel every pulse of the tattoo needle.
think of it like this, if you get tattooed where you get spanked, then it will hurt less than a spanking...if you get tattooed where the outer seam of your jeans runs, it will hurt a lot!

Who knows it might hurt bad! i know some one well two who got a tattoo on there back close to there hip and they was in pain!!!!!!!!!

Well, as a person who has a hip tattoo, it really depends on how boney her hip is and if she's good with pain. Everyone is different so she'd pretty much have to do it to know.

well the one on my neck hurt but not that bad, i also have my labret pierced ya know between lip and chin it hurt only when needle was going in i was scared,

look pain doesnt matter hun- you know that heck yea im gonna have a tattoo if i take the pain and after that the pain is gone so why worry?

With a needle puncturing skin, some pain would be expected. Warn your friend, your more likely to "catch" Hepatitis C from a sanitary tatoo parlor vs. being a drug user/using "used" needles. That's enough to scare me not to do it. If she does go on with getting it, I'd recommend that she be tested for Hep C after a few months.

It will hurt but only for awhile soon you become numb to the needle work. Fleshy parts don't hurt as bad as getting one over bone. Know from experience.

the hip isn't too bad. The worst places are around the neck and under the arm. There might be worser places but I haven't heard of them.

not too bad the key thing to do is never listen to other ppls tattoo stories everyone is different and sensitive in different ways in different areas so if u want it go get it done then go do it and dont think about the pain trust me

There will be some pain, BUT there are areas that are more painful than the hip.
