No, you don't have to be a Soldier to support the troops.
You cannot be anti-war and hate Bush and support the troops. It is impossible. The people that claim this are Idiot Hypocrits.
I'm a Nam Vet. If the people that support the troops don't stand up to the America Hating Liberals, it is the same as being one of them. I know what I'm talking about. I lived with the results of allowing the few Anti-war libs. have their say without confronting them, and then showing what Idiot America haters they are.

I support the troops, but not the actions they are taking. I do not support the use of banned weapons (Look Ma! It's New and Improved Napalm! Impress your friends! Get around the prohibition! It's Napalm PLUS! All we did was change the name! The formula's still the same!). I do not support the actions that result in the deaths of innocent Iraqi civilians. I would not have supported the Viet Nam war, either. I would have supported our entrance into WWI and WWII, though. And I would have supported our soldiers in Viet Nam - and believed that though their presence over there is wrong, they are not the ones responsible for being there. To ask every military member, to a man (or woman), who does not agree with the war to refuse to serve would be ridiculous. Sometimes they depend on the people back home who aren't being spoon fed military radio all day to do the "dirty work" of ending something like this debacle.
I support the troops coming home. I support them coming home without being in body bags. Just heard a story tonight of a little girl just born 2 days or so ago who will never know her daddy - because her daddy was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq about 3 months ago. I'm tired of daddy-less babies because of this "war." I'm just tired of this war.

Why ask the question if you already know the answer?
I think the vast majority of American support both the troops and the President. A lot of us, myself included, criticize the President and don't support the reasons for going to war, but still, in the end, respect and support the office of the Presidency of the United States.
Let's address the issue of whether those not serving in Iraq are unpatriotic traitors. I understand that you are probably venting. But let's get something clear hear, those serving in Iraq are volunteers. And before you go around saying that those who wait to get drafted are all unpatriotic traitors, think twice before you insult those draftees that have served this country in prior wars.

uh...okay. i tried getting into the military out of high school and was rejected on a health concern...my spinal cord was shifted 2cm from its place, and they said i would have severe back problems in the future and didnt want to be a part of that (well long story short 7 years later, my back is just fine, dont have any pains what so ever, and i move around 500 pound plus objects on a daily basis with carts) anyway... i have many relatives in the military and i support what they believe in b/c i am not there and dont really know whats going on b/c the press sux!!!! they tell as much as they can, and for the most part they really believe that the American troops are making a huge diference in the middle east, even though the left wing press says otherwise.
however, i do not support the president's descision to invade iraq. thought that was a bad call. but now the country is in severe destruction that we need to stay to clean up after ourselves. i just pray that the problem is taken care of quickly and the troops come home.
GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN TROOPS!!!!!

I support the troops and the president......and I admire their courage and bravery. Most of us would not risk our lives to defend this country. I know I couldn't do it, and I will readily admit that. To walk away from your children and family and take the chance of being killed in combat....thats honorable beyond compare. I dont understand why your so negative though. Your question was very rhetorical. If you dont want someone to answer, then why ask a question. Not everyone who supports the troops can go to Iraq. The military does have certain requirements the last time I checked. Thats unfair of you to make a blanket judgement on people. Now, thats an intelligent answer for you to shove so far up your *** it will come through your ears. Have a nice day moron.

I support the troops. Don't support the Cause. I'm laeving for the ARMY on monday So by you're standards I am "Supporting the troops" but, you do not have to be in the Military to support them. I believe ya Prayers are good enough. Unpatriotic tratitor? You're being a lil' too hard on the people. You said "No" does that mean you don't support the troops? cuz there's no reason you should'nt. The "troops" are innocent people So theire no reason why you should'nt support them or wish for theire downfall.

Whoa! You are a little upset tonight, aren't you? Yes, I can and do support the troops as well as our president. I may not agree with everything the President says or does, but I respect him and the office he holds.
No, you are wrong. One can support the troops without actually being one who has gone to Iraq. There are plenty of us who have loved ones there now or who have been. Get off your high horse and come back down to reality.
For those buttheads who don't support our men and women in the service..... Move to another country and stop breathing our air!

sure, greater troops could be sent to help the troops there. only shop sending greater troops, that could be a plan. Or how a pair of recent plan, new procedures? perhaps if we come across a distinctive answer to Iraq, some thing creative, some thing they won't see coming. we will not only run, we are in too deep. And the longer we live, the greater human beings get killed. The generals heavily could desire to discover some thing greater effective than "only deliver greater troops".

Where do you get off with your BS! You don't have to go to Iraq in the military to support the troops. I'm sorry I can see you now, you're brain dead, or your having a real serious brain fart! I can't tell which from this far away.
Let me offer a word of wisdom!
Engage your brain before you put your mouth in gear.
It's better to say nothing and have poeple think your fool.
Than to open your mouth and prove it!

Absolutely! They are doing courageous duty in a very dangerous locale.
Each soldier has opportunity to make a positive difference, or to do the opposite. The troops deserve highest appreciation and respect in 99.99% of the cases
