You can always do something on knot theory. It can be a very visual part of math, and you can do many examples in 3-D (with rope or string). Some of the basics, such as Reidemeister moves and colouring may be accessible to someone with your background. One thing to be aware of is that it starts out very easy, but gets very difficult very quickly.

wow, I was going to suggest knot theory too. I always found it interesting that knots do not have inverses (you cannot "glue" two knots together to get the unknot). You could research the history of knot theory and how people tried to relate it to groups.
You could also look at game theory. You could look at an impartial game and prove some theorems for different values.
You could also prove some trig identies proofs using geometry.
