So far so good.....
Pitching, hitting, clutch performances....
now Vegas has them as the favorite!
I think they will, what do you think?
(No Yankee fans please.)

The dude that said Wright is the only clutch performer on the Mets is insane. What about the Carlos's, Jose Reyes, Paulie LD, and Endy.
If you watched the All Star game, it was Mets, who set up the NL to be in a position to win, if not for Hoffman.

i dont think that many other teams have a real shot at it. i cant see the white sox being great much longer, the red sox still have another 85 years before theyll win another, the tigers might be a little too young to perform well in the playoffs (although im starting to hop on the bandwagon), and texas' pitching wont last. the other AL competitors will be the yankees, a's, twins, and indians. cleveland has been a disappointment but they should have a very strong second half. the twins are looking stronger but they are relying on the performance of only a few (morneau, maur, liriano, and santana). the yankees will, of course, make some deals and wind up winning the division like always but everyone can see that this isnt a championship team. the a's, however, might have the pitching to stop the mets offense, but they end up losing so many easy regular season games that theyll get worn down before the playoffs. in the NL, the cards only can win if their pitching gets better, the cubs should have a good second half but they might have dug a whole too deep already, the astros should be decent but they are too streaky, and everyone in the east has proven they have a tough time with the mets. the NL west is fun to watch because each team is fighting for that last place spot as much as they are for first. the dodgers are my pick to break out ahead but i wouldnt like them matched up against the mets.
so i would say yes, theyll at least make it there and probably win it if their pitching can stay as strong as it has. the starters are getting old (1-4 are well over 30 now) so it might be alot to ask them for one more stretch run.

The Yankees. They have good pitching that will develop through the year. A lot of injuries within the offense, but with Sheffield and Matsui returning in September, it can only get better. Giambi is blasting the ball and is an on-base machine. They have what it takes to go all the way. And F u c K the Red Sox. Oh yeah, and the Mets, too.

In any short series, anything can happen. Look what the Florida Marlins did to the Yankees in 2003 and a few years ago, Seattle won 116 games in the regular season and then fell in the playoffs.
The Mets will probably make the playoffs, but what will happen next is anybody's guess. Also, the AL team will once agin have the home advantage.

I am a huge Mets fan and would love to see them win..but I think many times it takes getting close one year, and then the next year you become hungrier and you win..I think the age of teh starting pitching will let them down in th estretch..Pedro is already hurting, and Glavine may tire towards the end of teh season...and so will the over used bullpen.they are great but will probably slump at some point..I see them getting rid of Floyd..hopefully in a trade for a young starter....letting Millege play all of next year in the Majors....they may even trade nady and use Chavez next year...theyhave a great kid in Bannister..and I think maine could be awesome also....Soler may be the long reliever of the future with Hielman leavingbefore long..I hope they keep the infield intact

I definately think they will be there representing the NL but I think thats as far as they will go. I dont think Pedro or Glavine will be able to hold up for the whole post season. I do really like the left side of their infield and think they have a lot of good years ahead of them but I think the White Sox are gonna do it again.

If they get the pitching to shape up, the White Sox will repeat, and Ozzie can stick it to the obnoxious troll Jay Mariotti.
