You need to determine why your cycle is so irregular. If you are not having a period then chances are you are not ovulating. You may have a condition like Poly cystic ovary syndrome which could make conception more difficult but not impossible. If this is the case there are medications and life style changes which could help you get pregnant in just a few months. Either way you need to determine the cause of your irregular periods you don't want to get pregnant and find out the irregular cycle was being caused by something more serious.

It sounds to me like you aren't ovulating. I say this, because many women with irregular periods don't ovulate, especially if you aren't even getting a period every month. The body has a special balance of hormones, and perhaps having your first child altered these a bit. I would say that you will more than likely be put on some medication to restore the balance of your hormones.

I really do think that a trip to your OB/GYN is in order, because he or she will be able to look at your cycle, and perhaps do some blood work, and will be able to determine if you qualify for an ovulation-stimulating drug. This will most probably be a drug called Clomid. Here is some information on it:

"Clomiphene. This is the most common fertility drug, taken for five days at the beginning of each menstrual cycle. Clomiphene stimulates the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) by the pituitary gland. This acts on the ovaries and often triggers the ripening of a follicle and then ovulation, usually around five to 10 days after the last tablet is taken. Clomiphene's advantages is it's free from major side effects and has a low multiple pregnancy rate - only five to 10 percent. There's a possible link with ovarian cancer after 12 cycles so if conception isn't achieved after about six cycles, you may be advised to try ART instead. In the US, fertility drugs such as dexamethasone and metformin offer an alternative approach for some women"

I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive forum that I think you might find useful. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise. The forum also has a special section for women who are having trouble conceiving, with a talking place for women who are taking Clomid.

I wish you all the best in trying to conceive!

Ovulex is a drug you would get from your OBGYN. It may work for you and it may not. No fertility drug is 100% effective and much depends on the specific condition that is stopping you from becoming pregnant in the first place. Most fertility drugs are also, for the most part, safe. Like all drugs, they do have a risk of certain side effects, and your doctor will go over those with you. Also, like all drugs to make you ovulate, the chances for multiple births is increased. This is unavoidable, as it is in the very nature of the drug to increase ovulation.

Also, you should be aware that Ovulex is only one of many, many drugs that could possibly help you. The folks who recommend you speak with your doctor are right on the money.

Have you talked to your Dr. about your TTC conceive problems? Definately see her, b/c she'll be in the best position to help you figure out your problem and ultimately get pregnant.

I have never taken Ovulex or anything, but here's some info I found out about it:

"Here is What Will Happen
To You Using Ovulex™"
Ovulex™ will start to naturally increase your ovulation cycle. This increases the chances of one of your eggs being fertilized.
Ovulex™ will start to relax your uterus and strengthen its walls to help avert miscarriage.
Ovulex™ will help strengthen your immune system and reduce your reaction to stress. This results in a more natural menstrual cycle and creates a more stable and nurturing environment for your baby to develop in.

Ovulex™ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How Does Ovulex™ Work?

The blend of botanicals that make up Ovulex™ is the result of the international research of multiple universities, scientists and doctors over the past two decades. The ingredients in Ovulex™ have been demonstrated through innumerable documented studies to effectively and safely bring balance to most women's hormones and help normalize menstrual cycles, as well as the accompanying side effects of PMS, as effectively and safely, and usually more safely, than prescription hormone therapies (meaning, without the common negative side effects of chemical drug therapies). This balance is essential to increasing your chances of becoming pregnant. Ovulex™ does not over stimulate your ovaries to release multiple ova (eggs) throughout your cycle, or multiple times during your cycle. For many women, infertility is due to a shortened or irregular menstrual cycle. The ingredients in Ovulex™ have a specific action which allows for a longer ovulation period, giving you a greater opportunity to conceive.

How Do I Take Ovulex™?

To reach optimal results with Ovulex™, we suggest that you take one pill at the same time twice a day, no more than 12 hours apart or as set by a health care practitioner. Continue taking Ovulex™ through your entire cycle, even while you are menstruating. The Ovulex™ plan can be started at any point in your cycle, but it does take 2 -4 weeks to become fully effective.

Can I Take Ovulex™ With Other Medications?

We cannot and will not recommend anyone taking Ovulex™ or any other supplement along with any other medication without first consulting your doctor. If you wish to order dietary supplements from us without consulting your doctor, and you are taking any medication, than please be advised you are proceeding at your own risk.

Will Ovulex™ Cause Multiple Births?

No evidence has indicated that the ingredients in Ovulex™ cause multiple births.

Is Ovulex™ Shipped Discreetly?

Yes, Ovulex™ is shipped in an unmarked box.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Ovulex™ is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Ovulex™ should be taken as part of a healthy lifestyle and individual results may vary.

Also, just for TTC, I suggest a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Following the principles in that book helped me to understand my cycles better and to pinpoint exactly when I'm most fertile and it helped me get pregnant.

I also suggest a product called PreSeed. If you use any products like KY when TTC, they can actually kill sperm, but PreSeed is a personal lubricant that is safe for sperm, it actually makes it more likely for you to get pregnant b/c it is such a good fluid for sperm to swim through. We also used that when we got pregnant.

Good luck!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
