I think it is to be happy. Everyone has different things that make them happy, we are lucky if we live in a country where we have a chance to try different things, to see what will make us happy.
I think the happiest people are the people who have found a job they love to do(and get paid for it), have others in their life to share their good fortune (whether it be money, a great personality, a good sense of humor, etc...)

Religion tries to answer this. The real question should be "does life have to have a purpose?" or "Is there something greater than myself that has a plan for me".

Without a greater intelligence offering up a purpose, life just is. Some people can accept this and enjoy their time here w/o a reason, and some seek religious and spiritual answers to cope with the uncertainty of purpose.

There is no correct answer to this question, and will be debated as long as man exists I believe.

To struggle, learn, and better yourself. If during that lifetime you make a difference in peoples lives (in a positive way) it's just more icing on the cake.

I don't believe in life after death (ie Heaven or Hell or reincarnation) You make the best of the time you have on earth. You don't live on in any afterlife, but from things or action you leave behind.

To learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

OMG! You're kidding right? It's to have fun, enjoy nature, watch the waves come in, feed baby ducks, pet a purring kitten, read a good book, tell jokes, love, caring, sharing. If you're depressed, read how I got over it:

To the omniscient poster: To presume to know is arrogant? Open your eyes, man. It's plainly obvious. Get religion or meditate.

God wanted other people to experience life and enjoy life.
He put Adam and Eve in a beautiful paradise with everything they could possibly want. They choose to disobey and god said when they did they would die and go back to the ground and they did.
He is chooseing right hearted people to live forever and put them in the paradise Adam lost. So we can enjoy life again

it is ones purpose to find his/her meaning in life...in time you will find that purpose and serve it...try not to change too many things or deviate from your norm. otherwise your true purpose might not happen as it should...whatever becomes of you...make sure it has meaning and substance...enjoy life !!!

You know, that's a good question. I ask people that all of the time and the only answer I get is "to live". When you find out...tell me.
